2007 CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT
Creative Environment Project (juried) -
Directed by West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority.
Facilitated by Donald Coventry.
Official Launch at Koonwarra Hall in 2006 for WGCMA,
Official Exhibition Opening at LaTrobe Regional Gallery, Morwell then touring Gippsland including Courthouse Gallery Yarram,
Coalfields Gallery Wonthaggi
& East Gippsland Gallery Bairnsdale.
This was the most rewarding, encouraging and artistically stimulating project I have been fortunate to be involved in. I was one of 3 painters with mentor Bill Young. There were 3 sculptors with mentor Colin Suggett and 3 photographers with mentor Susan Purdy.
We had 6 months to create works about the Gippsland environment. It was such a privilege to work alongside these well known, respected and established artists and to learn from their years of experience. I made lasting friendships with other participants and mentors. There should be more projects like this!!
I was fortunate to have my painting Four Elements Gippsland purchased by WGCMA.
